This Queen Bee, created in tar, narrates the struggle and fragile tipping point between nature and human consumption.
Tar is a by-product of destructive distillation, contributing greatly to climate change, which in turn influences every aspect of a bee’s life cycle.
Previously exhibited in the all-female show: There’s a Good Girl, Saatchi and Saatchi, London. December 2014 – January 2015.
Tar, gloss paint, jesmonite, gold leaf, acetate, wire and resin.
