My egg is a canvas reflecting the delicate balance and beauty of life. Painted with insects I’ve discovered in my garden, it celebrates these tiny treasures and their vital role in our ecosystems.
Over the course of a year, I photographed and logged the bugs I found, each one a small wonder.
I hope my egg inspires people to look a little closer and discover the treasures waiting right outside their door.
I began by sketching the placement of the bugs to explore how they could be arranged across the surface of the egg.
I wanted it to feel magical and focused on the more unusual creatures I’d discovered.
In aid of Asia’s Wildlife Charity, Elephant Family, in partnership with Clarence Court, the Big Egg Hunt will run from 24th March – 27th April, 2025.
All eggs will be auuctioned off at the end and all proceeds go to The Elephant Family Charity.
You can find my egg at The Dorchester Hotel and find out more about The Big Egg Hunt here.
